Our first session in “The Missing Stories,” a workshop series for high school educators, brings South Asian American history into the classroom. Through an analysis of the song “Red” by singer-songwriter Anju, we explore the story of Dr. Anandibai Joshee, who in 1886 became the first South Asian woman in the world to earn a medical degree.
